Which cruise carnival paradise or royal carribean monarch of the seas?

I am looking at at a 4 day cruise from long beach and cant decide which line to take royal carribean or carnival which ship is better. Note I am traveling with my 14 year old son

Answer :
I was just on the Monarch of the Seas in December 2007 and will be on the Paradise in July 2008. Both ships are about the same size. The Monarch was built in 1991, the Paradise in 1998.

The Monarch visits three ports (San Diego, Catalina and Ensenada) while the Paradise visits two ports (Catalina and Ensenada) and spends the third day at sea. I like days at sea because they are so relaxing.

The cabins on the Paradise are about 50% bigger than the cabins on the Monarch.

The Monarch will be moving to Florida in October 2008. There are no current plans to replace the Monarch.

Based on past experience, the food on Carnival is slightly better than food on Royal Caribbean.

I have been on eight cruises. The overall crew on the Monarch was the best I have ever experienced.

The Monarch has a rock climbing wall, the Paradise does not. The Paradise has a water slide, the Monarch does not. Neither ship has headed pools (though both have hot tubs).

Both ships have good programs for 14 year olds.

Here is a link to my review of my cruise on the Monarch of the Seas in December 2007 (if you want to read it) ...

Answer :
carnival is the better one-although they are very similar. For a 14 year old I would def. choose Carnival- they have great Kids Clubs.

Answer :
My daughter and her husband went on Carnival last year and loved it. There were lots of kids on that cruise too, lots of activities - go to this travel website for more info and great deals/prices - www.ytb.com/emcguire - good luck and have fun

Answer :
Carnival cruises are so much fun. For kids and adults. I went with my aunt and her family. She has a 14 year old and a 12 year old. They were enrolled in Camp Carnival & they had a blast. That also gave us time to tan, gamble, have a few drinks, or do whatever we wanted! It's very safe, and I am actually going again this spring!!! Even though I am pregnant I know it will still be a blast!!! Good luck and I hope you 2 have and awesome time!!!

Would they let me in club O2 in carnival paradise even if im 18?

i just turned 18 in june and my family and I are going to carnival paradise tmorrow sep 4. I have two brothers. one is 14 and one is 15....would they let all 3 of us in at club O2?

Answer :
Its a 50/50 bet. If the club director is chill, and they would let you in. But on my last cruise the Club O2 director was a total crab and bitchy lady. And she stopped the whole club durring dance night and turned on all the lights to check eveyone to make sure they wernt to old or young to be in the club.

I would totally try to get in. You can for sure get in, but the problem is saying in with out being confronted by the club director.

Good Luck! And you will have tons of fun!

What video Games do they have in Circle C on the Carnival Paradise Cruise?

i was wondering what videogame systems and videogames they had in circle c on the Carnival Paradise Cruise. if you no wat games they hav on one of the other ships that would also be apreeciated

Answer :
Um, well I've never been in Circle C myself, but I've been in Club 02 (but not on the Paradise).

We had Wii, Xbox 360, you name it. They're pretty up to date with game consoles and games, and even have some pretty recent movies.

I'm not normally a big fan of video games, so unfortunately I can't give you much information. But I do remember playing a bunch of sports game on the Wii in Club 02 a few years ago.

Anyways, don't worry too much about the video games. I'm pretty picky and even I enjoyed myself, but you're not going to spend the entire time playing video games. Don't forget that there's also a lot of other activities planned!

How is Carnival Paradise to Ensenada in December?

Hi, We are cruising for first time. We want to take Carnival Paradise in Dec 08. Can you tell me how will be ride? Is it bumpy and we get sea sickness?

And how will be the weather Christmas time in Ensenada?

Any suggestions on Carnival Paradise?

Thanks for your answers.

Answer :
Been there early November on Carnival Paradise and it was already cold in Ensenada. Probably much colder since it's already December. Carnival Paradise was smooth. Occasionally we felt the ship rock because of the waves but it was no cause for concern. You will be greeted in Ensenada by the biggest Mexican flag you'll ever see. Take a tour to the Bufadora(Blowhole). They say there are only three of these in the whole world. One in Australia. I forget the other one. Paid about 15$ for the 45 minute ride to the blowhole. Lots of shops on the way as you walk to the blowhole. They will let you stay for a few hours to shop or eat then it's back to the ship. Some went to the town proper afterwards to booze up in the cantinas around and do some shopping. Lots of cheap beer around but you can't take them aboard if you buy. When you board the ship again, they will ask you to leave the alcohol with them for safekeeping, to be given back when you disembark. Be sure to book your dinner at 6 pm. We thought it wasn't a wise idea eating dinner early but after seeing the next batch(830pm) waiting in line outside the Elation Dining Hall every night, no regrets. You will enjoy your dinner always. The waiters see to it that you don't leave the hall dissatisfied. If you are happy with the way you were served, don't hesitate to leave your waiters a fine tip on your last night aside from the 10$ per day you were assessed when you booked your cruise. You will always get the same staff to look after you every time you dine. Oh, yes. The food you will be served will be superb. Be sure to try the prime ribs. The meat literally melts in your mouth. And that chocolate melt dessert. If you get hungry at the wee hours, the pizza bar is open 24/7 at the Lido Deck restaurant. 12 midnight, they open a snack bar where you can get burgers and hot dogs and fries, etc. till about 2 am. BTW, no free booze on this cruise ship. Even sodas are not free. At any rate, you will have a grand time on your cruise. Take my word for it. Worth your money.

Answer :
I haven't been on that particular cruise, but I have cruised on the Paradise before, and I believe that it is my favorite ship thus far. Of course, the best thing about it was that it is non smoking!

We left out of Puerto Rico and did a seven day to san juan, st. thomas, aruba, etc. and never had a lick of trouble with sea sickness. In fact, out of all my cruises (7, all with Carnival), I have only gotten sea sick once - one night out of 5 on the Sensation, which is tiny in comparison and therefore much less stable (plus we went through a major storm that night- so bad that one of the dancers fell off the stage from the boat rocking!).

If you are really worried about getting sick though, invest in some sea bands and Dramamine for extra insurance that you'll have a great trip!

Answer :
well it's no longer a nonsmoking ship but that is a fun cruise. lot's to do and not much time to do it in. the seas should be not too bad and the weather will be cool to cold at night. go to all the shows and eat in the dinning room as often as you can.. stay away from the inch of "junk" gold or silver. use the room service and use it often. it's free !!

Carnival paradise?

it will be my first time going on a cruise, so i was wondering if anyone else has gone on the paradise, and what is there to do on the ship. was it really crowded everywhere u went did u enjoy your experience etc. thanks

Answer :
loved the ship, sailing on it again..read the Carnival Capers and keep the daily plan with you so as not to miss any thing.don"t go to dinner early as they open on time period.. wait 2 or 3 min.go to all the shows..have fun

Answer :
Awesome Ship. Been on it twice out of Long Beach. I did not think the ship was crowded in most areas, but for shows I say get there early to get a good seat. The shows were cool, the comedians rocked. There will be a few bars on board, and a few lounges and a disco for night activities.
